Real Betis CEO Ramón Alarcón has on Thursday provided an insight into the future of head coach Manuel Pellegrini with the club.
As much, of course, comes amid speculation that the Chilean could be sent on his way with a view to next season.
Betis, for their part, have suffered an alarming drop-off in form over the course of recent weeks.
All told, since the beginning of March, the Verdiblancos have been condemned to a quartet of successive defeats either side of the international break.
With the club’s injury crisis having now largely eased, the aforementioned Manuel Pellegrini has inevitably seen his efforts called into question as a result.
Betis’ squad remains packed with talent, but the Andalusians now find themselves a full seven points outside the European spots in La Liga.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, the subject of a potential parting of ways between the club and boss Pellegrini was therefore put to the aforementioned Ramón Alarcón.
In his response, though, Betis’ CEO was adamant that a change on the bench is not on the agenda at the Estadio Benito Villamarín any time soon:
“It is a street debate, but in the club there is no such debate,” Alarcón began, during an interview with Radio Sevilla, as cited by Mundo Deportivo. “We believe that we have a great squad and a great coach, and he is the most qualified to fight for what we want, which is UEFA. We are planning next season with three scenarios. Scenario A is to compete in the Europa League with Manuel Pellegrini and 25 players. B, in the Conference League, with Manuel Pellegrini and 25 players, and C, without Europe, with Manuel Pellegrini and 25 players.”
