Matheus Cunha could leave Atlético Madrid in January

Atlético Madrid could offload Matheus Cunha as soon as the January transfer window, report Marca.

The Brazilian forward arrived to Los Colchoneros from Hertha Berlin in the summer of 2021 and scored seven goals in his first season at the club in all competitions.

His performance did not go unnoticed and in August it was communicated that Manchester United were keen on signing Cunha. However, no deal materialised between the two sides as The Red Devils were not willing to meet Atlético Madrid’s €50m asking price.

However, it appears as though Los Colchoneros would be keen to part ways with the 23-year-old as soon as possible. Cunha has failed to net a single goal in the 17 games that he played in so far this season and he has been struggling to get into the starting XI.

Considering the Brazilian international’s current form, Atlético Madrid may have to reduce their €50m price tag for the player.
