Massimo Moratti: “Messi not an impossible option for Inter.”

Speaking to Radio Rai, Former Inter president Massimo Moratti has claimed the club is entitled to dream of bringing Lionel Messi to the Giuseppe Meazza.

Moratti, who stepped down from his role at the Nerazzurri in 2013, believes Inter can dream big and has predicted ‘strange things’ to happen in 2020.

I don’t think it’s a forbidden dream at all. Maybe it wasn’t even before this misfortune. Messi is at the end of his contract and it would certainly take a tremendous effort to bring him here. I don’t know if this situation will change anything, but I think we will see strange things at the end of the year.”

Messi has always expressed a desire to see out his career at the Camp Nou, however Moratti pointed out that he could be part of a deal to bring Inter’s Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez to Barcelona.

“He is a very good lad (Lautaro), he cares about his career, but, as I said before, we have to see if it’s part of an operation for bigger players like Messi.”
