In recent hours, Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong has been linked with a move to Manchester United.
According to journalists Toni Juanmartí and Matteo Moretto, De Jong wants to stay at Barcelona and has told his team-mates that he wants to stay.
Barca manager Xavi considers him hugely important to the team but at the same time understands the club’s financial issues and that they need the revenue as well as being worried that if he doesn’t improve, he will lose value and the club will lose money.
Barcelona are reportedly waiting for a big offer, with Manchester United, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and PSG all monitoring the situation.
De Jong, who turns 25 today, has a contract with Barcelona until 2026.
