Luis Suárez happy to be back for title run-in

Speaking exclusively to Sport, Luis Suárez admitted life during lockdown was a challenge and is happy to be back with his Barcelona teammates in time for the title run-in after recovering from injury.

It has been a very strange situation but we managed fine with Juanjo (Barca fitness coach), who scheduled the players’ training programs via mobile and video calls.”

The 33-year-old said that returning to training has been a blessing. “I’m very happy. At first, I spent a few days with Juanjo and then bit by bit I got back into the group. I’ve been working for a few days with the group. In part the coronavirus helped me gain time in my recovery, I will be able to play in games in which I wasn’t going to feature in. I’m very happy about that but there’s the negative side too, with the situation that many people have to face. The ambitions are the same, win all we can and I think that we’re in the right condition to achieve that.”
