Luis Enrique’s Spain squad only has two Real Madrid players

Of the 55 players in Luis Enrique’s provisional World Cup squad, there are only two Real Madrid players.

Dani Carvajal and Marco Asensio will be the two who will go to the World Cup, however, experienced Real Madrid defender Nacho is not among the 55 with a possibility of going to Qatar.

How many Barça players are in the 55?

There are five Barcelona defenders, Gerard Piqué being one of them as well as Eric García, and three left-backs: Jordi Alba, Marcos Alonso and the impressive Alejandro Balde.

Sergio Busquets, Pedri and Gavi are not only regulars at Barça but could also be the midfield three for Luis Enrique in Qatar later this month.

Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati are available for selection and could make the final squad, which will be announced on November 11. Barcelona could have up to seven players on the plane flying from Spain.

What is clear is that Barça players, like in the 2010 World Cup, will feature heavily for the national team in the World Cup.
