Kylian Mbappé sends message to Real Madrid over signing date

Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappé has made clear to the powers that be at La Liga giants Real Madrid that he has set a deadline to announce his signing with the club.

That’s according to Marca, who have today provided a fresh insight into developments behind the scenes in Spain’s capital.

Mbappé, of course, has long been locked in negotiations with the brass at the Santiago Bernabéu, over the terms of a contract beginning in the summer.

This comes after the 25-year-old informed the aforementioned PSG of his decision not to extend his expiring terms with the club.

And yet, though an agreement between Real and Mbappé has long been labelled as imminent, it has remained unclear exactly when the transfer is likely to be announced.

Marca, in turn, have on Thursday provided an insight into as much.

Though a precise date has not yet been set in stone, Mbappé’s entourage have informed the La Liga leaders that he will make public his decision to join the club well in advance of France’s Euro 2024 campaign being kicked into gear.

As much comes with the explosive attacker desperate to lead his country’s European Championship charge ‘free of the pressure’ of an announcement regarding his plans for next season.

Les Bleus’ Euros opener will take place on June 17th, against Austria.

In the case of neither Real Madrid or PSG making it as far as the Champions League final, Mbappé’s statement is expected to come in the 2nd last week of May.

On the other hand, should one or both march all the way to the Wembley showpiece, a formal announcement will be withheld until after June 1st, so as not to cause any unwanted distractions for either side.
