Last week, reports emerged about Kylian Mbappé refusing to activate his one-year contract extension at PSG. This has put Mbappé’s future in limbo with Les Parisiens, with the forward’s contract set to expire in the summer of 2024.
The Mbappé saga has produced even more twists and turns after the Frenchman spoke out about his future during a recent interview with Téléfoot.
“A lot can happen in a year, especially at a club like PSG,” Mbappe remarked, insisting that he will not decide on his future until 2024.
Mbappé is determined to remain at PSG this season, however, PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi is desperate for the 24-year-old to extend his contract. Failing to agree to a contract extension will see the star being placed on the transfer list. PSG will not allow the Frenchman to run down his contract and become a free agent.
The interview with Téléfoot gave us more questions than answers; Mbappé did not clarify his situation, which, in effect, has spiced up the situation even more, with Real Madrid keeping a watchful eye on the situation.
