Atlético Madrid star Julián Alvarez has seen his difficult opening to the new campaign culminate in a drop in his valuation on the transfer market.
This of course comes in the thick of one of the more challenging stretches of the Argentine’s stellar career to date.
Alvarez was at the heart of one of the sagas of the summer transfer window, after being identified as a leading target on the part of those in a position of power at Barcelona.
In the end, however, despite making clear his desire to move on, Atlético point-blank refused to even enter into negotiations with their La Liga rivals over a deal.
Alvarez, in turn, was forced to stay put, since looking some way off his brilliant best to open the new season.
And as alluded to above, these woes have begun to have a knock-on effect when it comes to the former Manchester City man’s current value on the market.
As per a report from Diario Sport, citing market insiders transfermarkt, Alvarez’s worth has dropped from its previous €120 million to €110 million, a considerable reduction of €10 million.
