José Mourinho has already asked Real Madrid for summer signings

Soon-to-be Real Madrid head coach José Mourinho has already laid out a request to the club regarding their plans for the summer transfer window.

This comes amid the understanding that the former Chelsea and Roma boss is eyeing fresh blood at the back.

Tactician Mourinho has of course emerged as the widespread favourite to take up the managerial reins at Real Madrid for next season.

Amid the ongoing chaos in the dressing room at Valdebebas, the Portuguese, respected in football circles across the globe, is considered the ideal figure to restore peace and bring about real change.

Negotiations are ongoing between the parties regarding a summer reunion, expected to be announced over the weeks ahead.

And as alluded to above, Mourinho, for his part, already appears to have run the rule over the standard of the current playing squad in Madrid.

In fact, as per a report from The Athletic, ahead of the imminent departures of Dani Carvajal and David Alaba:

‘A source said he has asked for defensive reinforcements’ for next season.
