An insight into the reasoning behind Barcelona star Roony Bardghji’s exclusion from Sweden’s squad for the upcoming World Cup has come to the fore online.
This comes amid the understanding that the attacker is essentially being punished for prior behaviour.
Back in March, Bardghji was called up to Sweden’s squad for a pair of World Cup qualifying fixtures.
Graham Potter’s troops ultimately went on to book their spot at the summer showpiece, courtesy of back-to-back victories over Ukraine and Poland.
Roony’s actions in the aftermath of the latter outing, however, appear to have cost him his place at the World Cup…
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, citing Aftonbladet and reported by TV3 in Sweden:
‘The winger appeared angry during the celebratory dinner and that his attitude made a very bad impression. Several players were surprised by Roony’s behaviour, and many are certain that the dinner incident was the main reason for his exclusion from the squad.’
