José Luis Mendilibar is the front-runner to take over at Levante, according to Ser Deportivos Valencia.
If current interim manager Alessio Lisci is not appointed on a full-time basis, Mendilibar looks set to be tasked with the job of rescuing the Valencia-based club, who are rock bottom of La Liga.
The former Eibar boss, who had a brief spell at Levante in 2014/15, making just eight appearances before being sacked, could be given a second chance at Orriols.
Levante sacked manager Javier Pereira on November 30.
