Jorge Sampaoli: “We need strikers with forcefulness.”

Jorge Sampaoli gave an interview to the Sevilla media, which also appeared on Marca:

The Argentine coach believes that the club needs to bring in reinforcements this coming January:

“We need strikers with forcefulness. In my first spell at Sevilla we had Jovetić, Sarabia, Ben Yedder, Vitolo, who scored goals, and even Franco Vázquez. Players who had the ability to get in front of goal and win a game.”

Sampaoli was asked whether he would play Rafa Mir and Youssef En-Nesyri together upfront:

“Two strikers can coexist on the pitch in different places if there is communication. Against Betis we played with two strikers and they didn’t play off each other. There wasn’t that communication and they neutralised each other.”

He also gave an update on Tecatito Corona’s injury:

“”Tecatito comes from a serious injury. We have to see when he recovers, when he comes out of the trauma of his trauma. It’s not just the physical problem, it’s overcoming the fear to recover.”
