Jorge Sampaoli: “I am happy because the team enjoyed the match.”

Last night Sevilla drew 0-0 against Borussia Dortmund in the fourth round of the Champions League group stages.

While mathematically they are not out of the race, they are very unlikely to qualify for the knock-out rounds of the competition. In his post-match interview with Movistar that appeared on Marca, Jorge Sampaoli did not choose to comment on Los Nervionenses’ position in the group:

“I’m only thinking about the next game and that the team will continue to compete. When we find an idea, a way of playing in a certain way, then we will start to look towards the future. Today we are just starting to get used to each other. We were superior at many moments of the game. I think it is a step forward for the team.”

The Argentine coach was pleased with his team’s performance:

“The team played a good game, they were well-positioned and could have won with the situations they created. I am happy because the team enjoyed the match and played at a difficult place.”
