João Félix: “I feel good at the moment and I want to keep improving.”

In an interview with Movistar after Atlético Madrid defeated Barcelona 2-0 on Saturday, João Félix admitted that his confidence is growing as a player.

“The dressing room is celebrating at the moment. We knew Barcelona would leave space in between the midfield and defence and we were able to create chances. I played well but I wasn’t able to score. I feel good at the moment and I want to keep on improving.

“We needed to win. If the goal had come in the 90th minute, it would have been good for us too. We preferred to settle the game earlier.”

The Portuguese playmaker was involved in Atlético’s first goal, finding Luis Suárez, who then picked out Thomas Lemar to score past Ter Stegen. Suárez then added a second before the break, scoring against his former club with a nice finish following a cross from Lemar.
