Joan Laporta holds home celebration as Xavi’s continuity as Barcelona boss confirmed

Barcelona head coach Xavi’s continuity on the club’s bench for next season has on Wednesday been confirmed.

As much was announced by European football expert Fabrizio Romano a short time ago.

Following a fresh round of discussions between the parties, Xavi this evening informed the Barcelona brass that he has come to the definitive decision not to step down from his post.

The 44-year-old, as a result, will remain in the dugout in Catalunya’s capital for at least the coming 12 months, as per the terms of his current contract.

An official announcement regarding as much is expected to be forthcoming imminently.

Joan Laporta, Xavi’s biggest backer throughout the saga surrounding his future, has in turn organised a get-together at his home on Wednesday night.

This comes as a form of celebration, for club and manager alike.
