Jan Oblak and Thomas Lemar extend contracts with Atlético Madrid

Jan Oblak and Thomas Lemar have renewed their contracts with Atlético Madrid, as reported by AS.

Both players have committed their long-term future to the club, as Oblak’s and Lemar’s deals are set to expire in 2028 and 2027 respectively.

Since arriving at the club from Benfica in 2014 as Thibaut Courtois’ replacement, the Slovenian keeper has grown into one of the best keepers in the world, amassing over 350 appearances for the club in all competitions.

According to the report, Oblak will maintain his €10 million net salary from his previous contract.

Atlético fans will also welcome the news that Lemar has committed his future to the club as well. The Frenchman played an instrumental role in the Diego Simeone side that won the La Liga title in 2020.

With these two deals, it appears that Atleti are using this transfer window to secure the long-term future of the club, in addition to making new signings such as Axel Witsel.
