Chelsea have increased their bid for Sevilla’s Jules Koundé

Chelsea have submitted a new bid of €64.7 million (£55 million) to sign Jules Koundé (23) from Sevilla, as communicated by Fabrizio Romano.

Chelsea saw their initial bid of €55 million rejected, with Sevilla looking for a deal more in the region of €65 million.

With Barcelona also showing a strong interest in the French defender, the London-based club might find themselves battling the Spanish giants for Koundé’s signature.

However, given Barcelona’s financial issues and the lack of a concrete offer, the Blaugrana might not submit an official bid.

It has also been reported that Koundé has been in contact with both Chelsea and Barcelona regarding the personal terms of a potential contract.

Chelsea are looking to replace Antonio Rüdiger and Andreas Christensen, both of whom left the club during this transfer window to Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.
