Isco injury latest after Real Betis’ draw with Getafe

Real Betis head coach Manuel Pellegrini has this evening provided an update on the wellbeing of star man Isco.

This comes after the former Spanish international was forced into a premature departure from his side’s La Liga meeting with Getafe on Sunday.

Betis were back in action a short time ago, battling their way to an eventual 1-1 stalemate owing to a pair of penalties at the Estadio Benito Villamarín.

Isco, for his part, was the man on target for the evening’s hosts, on his way to yet another Man of the Match award.

And yet, post-match, Betis have been left sweating over the fitness of their midfield creator.

This comes after he limped out of the action inside the closing ten minutes, with what appeared to be a muscular concern.

Speaking to the media post-match, the situation of his side’s star performer across the season to date was in turn inevitably put to Manuel Pellegrini.

And Betis’ headmaster went on to confirm that Isco will undergo a round of medical tests on Monday, to establish the extent of what is currently being labelled as ‘muscle discomfort’.

“Isco felt muscle discomfort, we don’t know if it was a pull. We have to wait until tomorrow,” Pellegrini explained.
