Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. has on Sunday dropped something of a hint, regarding his feelings on the incoming arrival of Kylian Mbappé at the club.
The name of frontman Mbappé has of course dominated the headlines in Spain’s capital over the course of the last 24 hours.
This comes after French outlet Le Parisien – regarded as highly reliable when it comes to all things Paris Saint-Germain – confirmed that the Ligue 1 champions’ star performer has come to the definitive decision to take his talents to Spain, with Real Madrid.
Negotiations between the parties, in turn, are ongoing behind the scenes, to reach an agreement on the terms of a contract, with a view to a summer free transfer.
News of Mbappé’s imminent addition has sparked widespread excitement across the Real Madrid fanbase, understandably eager to see another of world football’s standout talents pull on the colours of their club.
And yet, in the media, speculation has long spread that such a sentiment may not be shared by all in the dressing room at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Aware that he may be forced to fight it out with Mbappé for game time, it has been rumoured that Vinícius Jr. is not all that keen on the prospect of his fellow attacker’s arrival.
The latest social media activity on the part of the Brazilian, though, certainly appears to suggest otherwise.
Taking to his official Instagram account earlier today, Vinícius stumbled upon a post featuring he and Mbappé, accompanied by the caption:
‘Kylian Mbappé to join Vini Jr. at Real Madrid’
The Real Madrid star’s response? A simple ‘like’.
