Iago Aspas: “If you don’t score at the Nou Camp, the normal thing is that you lose.”

Celta Vigo were narrowly defeated 1-0 at the Nou Camp by Barcelona in the eighth round of La Liga.

In a post-match interview that appeared on Marca, Iago Aspas argued that they could have walked away with three points:

“The tie falls short for me, we had a great second half with four or five or six very clear chances, but if you don’t score at the Nou Camp, the normal thing is that you lose.”

The Galician veteran believes that match officials should have penalised Barcelona for wasting time:

They wasted time with the throw-ins and also Ter Stegen. We were warned about wasting time in the tenth minute and nothing was given to them. These are things that can happen against big teams.”

Aspas argued that they lost the tie in the first part of the match:

“The worst thing were those first 15 minutes, that’s when the first goal came, we corrected it at the break,” he added.
