Real, of course, are fresh off another dominant victory.
Owing to goals on the part of all of Brahim Díaz, Jude Bellingham and Joselu, Carlo Ancelotti’s troops cruised past relegation-battling Cádiz at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Should Barcelona fail to get the better of Girona later this evening, Los Blancos will, in turn, be officially crowned 2023/24 La Liga champions .
The mood in Spain’s capital on Saturday was therefore a celebratory one, as Real Madrid’s adoring supporters made clear their appreciation for the stellar endeavours of their side across the season to date.
And, amidst as much, one player in particular was singled out for a special tribute.
Afforded his first-ever start at the Bernabéu this evening, youngster Arda Güler built on his match-winning exploits last weekend with another impressive display against Cádiz.
Amid what has proven a difficult debut campaign for the Turkish international all told in Spain’s capital, those in attendance were therefore keen to show their support.
Upon Güler’s number flashing across the 4th official’s board, indicating his withdrawal midway through the 2nd-half, chants of ‘Güler, Güler, Güler’ were heard ringing around the Bernabéu stands, with many having gone as far as to provide a standing ovation to match.
