How long will Barcelona boss Xavi be suspended for?

An insight into the extent of the ban likely to be handed down to Barcelona head coach Xavi for his latest red card has been forthcoming on Monday.

The name of Barca boss Xavi, of course, returned to the forefront of the headlines once more late last night.

As much came after the Spanish tactician – long criticised for his disciplinary record – found himself in trouble with the officials once more.

En route to his side’s 3-0 drubbing of Atlético Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano, Xavi was first shown a yellow card for insistent protests late in the first-half.

Then, just minutes later, a 2nd booking, and ensuing red, were brandished in the direction of the former midfielder.

This came as Xavi’s 2nd dismissal of the campaign, after he was also sent for an early bath all the way back in August, in a La Liga meeting with Getafe.

So, just how long are Barcelona set to be without their headmaster, on the back of the international break?

As per a report from Diario AS:

‘The most normal thing is that the Blaugrana coach receives a two-match suspension – like the previous sanction at the beginning of the season.’

Brother and assistant Óscar Hernández, as a result, looks set to take Xavi’s place on the touchline for Barca’s upcoming La Liga fixtures against both Las Palmas, and Cádiz.
