How Barcelona could line up with João Félix

João Félix has finally joined Barcelona and here is how he could fit into Xavi’s team this season.

The Portugal international could play in the two systems that Xavi uses most often. In a 4-3-3 he could operate from the left flank, where he can use his ability to cut inside and create chances, and also fill the void left by Ansu Fati.

In a 4-4-2, João could play alongside the striker as he has done on countless occasions at Atlético Madrid, partnering Luis Suárez in his day and later Álvaro Morata and Antoine Griezmann.

He could also operate deeper in a 4-4-2, closer to Ilkay Güngodan and just behind Robert Lewandowski. Xavi believes that in that area, the former Benfica player can be decisive.
