Clément Lenglet has accepted Aston Villa’s offer and is set to play under Unai Emery at Villa Park for the remainder of the season.
AS report that the French defender is scheduled to travel to England today to undergo a medical and join the club on loan from Barcelona after Monchi and Emery decided they wanted to sign the left-footed defender.
The player met with Barcelona executives and sporting director Deco for more than three hours at the Ciutat Esportiva this morning, and he has finally accepted Villa’s offer after Tottenham withdrew their interest.
Lenglet enjoyed his experience with Tottenham last season and although he would have preferred to stay at the north London club, Villa is an option he likes.
The 28-year-old has a contract with Barcelona until June 2026. There is no option to buy included in the deal between the two clubs.
