‘Here we go’ – Hansi Flick named new Barcelona manager

The tactician set to take up the reins at La Liga giants Barcelona for next season has this afternoon been confirmed.

As much, of course, comes after Barca officially announced the dismissal of Xavi a short time ago.

Just weeks on from assuring that the club’s former midfielder would be in charge for the 2024/25 campaign, the Blaugrana have rather embarrassingly turned their back on Xavi.

This coming Sunday’s La Liga meeting with Sevilla will mark the 44-year-old’s last in the dugout with the Catalans.

Turning attentions towards the road ahead at Barcelona, confirmation of the man set to take over from Xavi beginning this summer has since been provided, too.

Though the Blaugrana themselves are unlikely to make anything official until next week, German tactician Hansi Flick is the man to have been decided upon by Joan Laporta and co.

As per transfer insider Fabrizio Romano:

‘Hansi Flick becomes new Barcelona head coach, confirmed and here we go!’

The former Bayern Munich boss will imminently put pen to paper on a two-year contract at the Camp Nou, through the summer of 2026.
