Carlo Ancelotti confirms Real Madrid star will miss Champions League final

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has this afternoon confirmed that a leading member of his midfield ranks will be forced to sit out the upcoming Champions League final.

The player in question? Aurélien Tchouaméni.

France international Tchouaméni, of course, picked up an untimely injury earlier this month.

As much came en route to the 24-year-old being forced into a premature departure from Real Madrid’s Champions League semi-final 2nd-leg showdown with Bayern Munich.

Ensuing medical tests revealed a stress fracture in Tchouaméni’s foot, throwing his status for next month’s tournament finale firmly up in the air.

Contrasting reports had since done the rounds regarding his progress, with some having assured that the former Monaco man was making great strides, whilst others pointed towards his presence against Borussia Dortmund as having been all but ruled out.

Speaking during a press conference on Friday, however, Carlo Ancelotti made official that, unfortunately, the latter will prove to be the case.

Tchouaméni, in fact, has already shifted his focus towards the upcoming European Championships, with France.
