Héctor Bellerín set for Real Betis return

Héctor Bellerín is set to return to Real Betis, report Spanish outlet Relevo.

Borja Iglesias and Aitor Ruibal, two of his best friends in the Betis dressing room, had hinted in recent weeks that the Catalan defender would like to return to the Andalusian club, where he played during the 2021-22 season.

Betis are preparing to sell Martín Montoya, who is under contract until 2024 but is not in the club’s plans going forward. They will need to further reduce their wage bill before going for Bellerín, who is pushing hard for this return to go through.

It is the player’s wish, and Betis want the move to happen, so now it is just a question of time before the 28-year-old former Arsenal man joins Manuel Pellegrini’s side as a free agent.

William Carvalho’s possible move to Saudi club Al Nassr would accelerate Bellerín’s return.
