A fresh insight into the future of Barcelona-linked tactician Hansi Flick has today been forthcoming online.
The name of German Flick has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Barcelona for several weeks now.
This comes amid the widespread understanding that the former Bayern Munich boss is viewed as a leading candidate to replace the outbound Xavi with a view to next season.
Joan Laporta, for his part, is particularly keen on Flick, eager to install a German on the Camp Nou bench this summer.
And, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, it would appear that the 58-year-old himself is equally keen to link up with the Blaugrana.
As per a report from Diario Sport, citing Sky in Germany, Flick has opted to rebuff the advances of struggling Bundesliga giants Bayern, over a potential return to the dugout in Bavaria.
As much comes with the ex-German national team headmaster eyeing a long-term project, and the post at the Allianz Arena, initially at least, having only been on offer through the summer.
Flick, in turn, is looking into a number of other ‘sporting proposals’, amid alleged interest in his services from the Premier League, too.
And yet, Barcelona, should they choose to firm up their approach, may well boast the advantage.
Sport note that ‘Flick would be especially attentive to waiting if Barça finally makes a firm proposal to be the one chosen to take over from Xavi Hernández in the 2024-25 season’.
