Hansi Flick on the way? Barcelona president Laporta holds fresh meeting with Pini Zahavi

A potentially significant update on the ongoing efforts of the Barcelona brass to bring in a new manager with a view to next season has this evening been provided.

This comes by way of confirmation that super agent Pini Zahavi was on Monday present in Catalunya.

Zahavi, for his part, was spotted departing a restaurant accompanied by none other than Barcelona president Joan Laporta.

So, what could the sit-down between the pair have related to?

Israeli agent Zahavi currently represents Blaugrana frontman Robert Lewandowski, but with the Polish international’s future for next season understood to be locked in, his situation is unlikely to have represented the meeting’s central talking point.

Instead, this most likely came in the form of the potential arrival of Hansi Flick in Catalunya’s capital.

Tactician Flick recently signed on with Pini Zahavi’s agency, in what was widely labelled a direct effort to carve out a move for himself to the Camp Nou.

As much comes with the 80-year-old known to boast close ties to the Barcelona board and, specifically, the aforementioned Laporta.

With Barca’s president holding Flick in altogether high regard, a joining of forces between the parties come the summer is therefore beginning to look increasingly possible.

Pini Zahavi’s latest trip to Spain, as a result, should not be brushed off as at all insignificant by those of a Blaugrana persuasion…
