Girona midfielder Aleix García has revealed his desire to one day line out in the colours of Barcelona.
Midfielder García has proven one of the standout performers of the campaign to date in Spain’s top flight.
The 26-year-old has featured from the off in all 15 of Girona’s La Liga outings, controlling proceedings in stellar fashion from his berth at the base of midfield.
Not only that, but he has chipped in in the attacking third, too, to the tune of three goals and four assists.
With Girona continuing to defy the odds in mounting a shock early-season challenge for the title, it should in turn come as little surprise to hear of García’s performances beginning to pique attentions.
Several top clubs are understood to be keeping a close eye on his progress, with a view to a future bid.
And now, as alluded to above, the Spanish international has provided an insight into his preferred landing spot, should he ultimately secure an exit from Montilivi.
Speaking in an interview with Movistar Plus+ ahead of Girona’s weekend showdown with Barcelona, Garcia admitted that he has long dreamed of taking his talents to Catalunya’s capital:
“I would like to play for Barcelona. It is the club that I have followed since I was little and the one that I have always liked.”
