Gennaro Gattuso: “I will travel to Singapore to speak to Peter Lim. My wife is not happy, but I have to go.”

Rayo Vallecano host Valencia this afternoon with kick-off scheduled at 2pm local time.

In his pre-match press conference that appeared on Marca, he told to those present that it will be difficult to play at the Estadio de Vallecas:

“It’s a difficult pitch, it’s a small pitch, we’ve worked this week with the dimensions that Vallecas has. It’s a very difficult match. I don’t like looking for excuses. We will be playing in 33 degrees, but we’re going to put a lot of effort into the game. It’s not an easy match.”

He also gave an update on Edinson Cavani’s condition, who hasn’t made an appearance for Valencia yet:

“Cavani will be working with us next week. I think he will be with us next week, I think, but I’m not a magician. Last week he was in discomfort and this week he has been very good. My priority is Rayo, next week we will talk about Cavani. On Sunday, after the game against Rayo, we will see.”

Gattuso also revealed that he will travel to Singapore to have a meeting with Peter Lim:

“After the Celta game I have three days off to be with the family and I’m going to travel to Singapore to talk to Peter Lim. He doesn’t like mobile phones. It’s an honour for me, but my wife is not happy. However, I have to go.”
