‘Future will not be here’ – PSG pair Enrique & Al-Khelaifi speak out on Real Madrid target Mbappé

Paris Saint-Germain pair Luis Enrique and Nasser Al-Khelaifi were tonight both asked for updates on the future of star attacker Kylian Mbappé.

As much comes fresh off another scintillating performance on the part of the 25-year-old.

PSG were back in action a short time ago, making the trip to Spain for the 2nd leg of the club’s Champions League Last-16 tie with La Liga outfit Real Sociedad.

When all was said and done on Tuesday, the capital giants emerged on the right side of a 2-1 scoreline, in the process booking their spot in the competition’s quarter-finals courtesy of a 4-1 aggregate triumph.

And, after opening the scoring in the first leg, the aforementioned Mbappé, once more, proved the star of the show at Anoeta.

The Frenchman was on this occasion responsible for both of PSG’s goals, either side of the interval.

As much, of course, comes despite widespread speculation in the media that the prolific frontman is all set for a summer move to Spain, with Real Madrid.

Speaking to the media post-match on Tuesday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of Mbappé’s future, yet again, was put to PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

And the Qatari businessman went on to provide something of a cryptic response, in explaining:

“If the club hasn’t said anything, I’m not going to say anything. He is at the club, he works for the club, he has a contract with us. But we are also building something for the future.”

The latest comments on the part of Luis Enrique, head coach of the Ligue 1 giants, on the other hand, left considerably less room for interpretation:

“Apparently his immediate future will not be here, so we will have to test other teammates,” the Spaniard confirmed in an interview with CANAL+.
