Real Madrid boss Ancelotti sends message to Valencia’s Mouctar Diakhaby after horror injury

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has on Tuesday forwarded a message of support to Valencia star Mouctar Diakhaby.

As much comes owing to the horrific injury suffered by the Guinean international during the La Liga meeting between the two clubs this past weekend.

The name of defender Diakhaby of course took its place front and centre in the headlines in Spain late on Saturday night.

Unfortunately for the 27-year-old, however, this came for less than positive reasons.

After Real Madrid star Aurélien Tchouaméni, completely by accident, fell awkwardly on the planted right leg of Valencia’s defensive stalwart, it quickly became evident that Diakhaby had picked up more than just a run-of-the-mill injury.

As players from both sides looked on in a state of shock, the former Lyon talent was loaded onto a stretcher, before being carried from the field of play amid distressing scenes.

It has since been confirmed that Diakhaby has suffered a dislocated right knee, though media speculation points towards the problem, potentially, being far more significant.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of his side’s return to action on Wednesday night, Diakhaby’s name, in turn, was inevitably put to the aforementioned Carlo Ancelotti.

And, after first confirming that both he and a number of Real Madrid’s stars have already made personal contact with the stopper, Los Blancos’ headmaster revealed his belief that Diakhaby will go on to enjoy a full recovery:

“All of us have been very close to Mouctar,” Ancelotti began, as cited by Mundo Deportivo.

“We are very sorry for what has happened, both Tchouaméni and we are confident that he will return. Unfortunately injuries in the world of football are quite frequent. We have been close to him, we have listened to him with confidence and enthusiasm. I believe he will recover well. We wish him the best.”
