Barcelona fans show appreciation for Ferran Torres after recent performances

Ferran Torres scored Barcelona’s third goal against Real Betis from a set-piece in the 62nd minute of the game on Saturday night, before being substituted in a flurry of changes made by Xavi Hernández with Europe on the horizon.

The former Manchester City player, who has had a great connection with the Blaugrana fans since the start of pre-season, was the first name announced over the loudspeaker and the home supporters gave the Spain international a standing ovation, report Mundo Deportivo.

Torres has won over the fans with some fine performances and Xavi also praised him at the press conference before the Betis game. “I told Ferran that what he is doing is of great value,” the Barça boss said.

“He single-handedly turned the situation around. He is a role model for his team-mates as well. He will be important.”
