Espanyol forward Raúl de Tomás could leave for Qatar or Saudi Arabia

Espanyol forward Raúl de Tomás could be looking for a team in Qatar or Saudi Arabia, countries where the transfer window does not close until next week, according to Sport via RAC1.

Matteo Moretto reports that De Tomás is in talks with Sharjah FC regarding a loan deal.

If he does not leave the La Liga club over the coming days, the Spanish striker will reportedly look for a way out of the club in the January transfer window.

A few days ago, COPE reported the possible interest of Galatasaray in acquiring his services. It was a genuine option at the time, as the Turkish window did not close until Thursday. Espanyol have, however, received no official confirmation of the interest of the Turkish club.

The option of a move to Rayo Vallecano, a club De Tomás knows very well, was also thwarted on the night the Spanish window closed.

Rayo submitted their latest offer for De Tomás 15 minutes before the transfer window closed in Spain.

Espanyol decided to accept the offer at midnight but the documentation for La Liga did not arrive on time as the Spain international looked for a late solution.

He had been previously linked with a move to numerous clubs, including Juventus and Sevilla.
