Erik Lamela’s Last Stand: Sevilla star bids emotional goodbye after season-ending injury

Erik Lamela says farewell to the season after sustaining an injury, likely marking his last appearance for Sevilla FC.

The Argentine midfielder, who started against Granada, exited the game in the 74th minute due to discomfort in his right knee. Following medical assessment, Lamela was diagnosed with a minor sprain of the medial collateral ligament, ruling him out for the remainder of the campaign.

Expressing his emotions on social media, Lamela stated, “Sevillistas, I am very sad and find it hard to comprehend that yesterday was my last game of the season, I still can’t believe it.” He added that he would focus on his recovery and support his teammates for the remaining league fixtures.

Lamela joins a list of sidelined Sevilla players for the rest of the season, including Isaac Romero (thigh injury), Djibril Sow (foot fracture surgery), Nemanja Gudelj (knee surgery), and Óliver Torres (shoulder injury).

Adrià Pedrosa is also unavailable due to a quad injury, while Kike Salas is struggling with muscular discomfort.

Suso Fernández returns from suspension for the upcoming match against Villarreal, while Loïc Badé is suspended due to an accumulation of yellow cards.
