Enrique Cerezo: “I’m going to ask Vinícius to teach me how to dance the samba.”

Atlético Madrid host Real Madrid at the Estadio Metropolitano this evening, with kick-off scheduled at 9pm local time.

In an interview that appeared on Mundo Deportivo, Los Colchoneros’ president Enrique Cerezo commented on the relations between the two Madrid clubs:

“They have always been fantastic and they will continue to be. In sporting terms, we have to go out and win when we play them.”

He also revealed who he thinks are the favourites in this match:

“The fixture is very evenly balanced, but we have to bear in mind that we are facing the champions of La Liga and Europe. As always, we’re going to go out to win, we want to play a great game and we owe our fans a good performance and it’s the ideal day for that.”

Cerezo also commented on the racist comments made towards Vinícius Júnior:

“If he dances, I’m going to ask Vinícius to teach me how to dance the samba. If I were to go to Brazil for the next carnival in Rio de Janeiro and I want to learn how to dance the samba, I would ask him to teach me. Players express themselves the way they want to. The only thing is that their expression has to show respect to the people around them when it is not their pitch.”
