Endrick set to be handed iconic Real Madrid jersey number

An insight into the squad number expected to be afforded to incoming Real Madrid frontman Endrick has been provided on Tuesday.

The name of Brazilian sensation Endrick has of course found itself centre stage in the headlines in Spain’s capital for some time now.

This comes ahead of his imminent arrival at the Santiago Bernabéu.

The explosive attacker is primed to link up with Carlo Ancelotti’s squad in July of this year, after at long last turning 18.

The Real hierarchy, back in 2022, agreed to fork out a hefty sum, with the potential to rise to €60 million, to bring him in from Brazilian giants Palmeiras.

Endrick, for his part, is widely considered to be a star in the making, with the success enjoyed by fellow countrymen Vinícius Jr. and Rodrygo in Spain boding altogether well for the teen’s prospects, too.

With Kylian Mbappé primed to add ever further to a star-studded frontline in Madrid, though, how are Real’s squad numbers likely to be dished out?

The iconic 7 already boasts an owner in the form of Vinícius, leaving the vacant 9 as, arguably, the most desirable.

And, despite his tender years, Endrick’s talents look set to be rewarded, by way of the 9 being attached to his name for next season.

As per a report from Marca:

‘Everything indicates that it (the 9) will fall into the hands of Brazilian Endrick.’

Kylian Mbappé, meanwhile, will likely take on the 10 shirt, set to be vacated by the departing Luka Modrić.
