The transfer team at Elche have this evening secured some late-window reinforcements to the club’s midfield ranks.
That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who has provided a fresh insight into developments behind the scenes at The Estadio Martínez Valero.
The player all set to take his talents to Alicante? Arnau Puigmal.
Versatile midfielder Puigmal has endured something of a hit-and-miss season to date, amid the ongoing struggles being endured by Almería in La Liga.
All told, the 23-year-old has racked up 11 league appearances, three of which came in the form of starts.
In turn, it has not come as a major surprise to hear of Almería’s openness to parting with Puigmal before the close of the winter transfer window.
And, on Wednesday, precisely that has moved a significant step closer.
As per a report from the aforementioned Fabrizio Romano: ‘Elche have agreed [a] deal to sign Arnau Puigmal from Almería’.
The transfer is understood to come in the form of a loan featuring an option to buy, which will become an obligation in the case of Elche securing promotion back to Spain’s top-flight.
