Eduardo Camavinga sees Real Madrid opener vs Man City taken away by UEFA

Real Madrid star Eduardo Camavinga has this evening been dealt something of a personal blow.

As much comes after the Frenchman opened the scoring in his side’s showdown with Manchester City… or so it seemed.

Los Blancos, of course, are currently locked in action on the continent, in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie with Premier League champions City.

Incredibly, inside the opening two minutes in Spain’s capital, the latter opened the scoring in proceedings, courtesy of a Bernardo Silva free-kick.

Just ten minutes later, though, Real were level.

After Eduardo Camavinga took aim from distance, a heavy deflection guided the ball beyond the wrong-footed Stefan Ortega.

The goal, remarkably, came as the France international’s very first of the campaign.

In turn, it will no doubt come as a blow for Camavinga to hear that, unfortunately, his effort has since been taken away by UEFA.

This comes amid confirmation that the midfielder’s strike at goal was in fact off target, therefore credited as a Rúben Dias own goal.
