A fresh update on the future of Davide Ancelotti with La Liga giants Real Madrid has today come to the fore online.
The info comes courtesy of Diario AS, and points towards the Italian preparing to stay put this summer.
The name of Ancelotti, son of and assistant to Real Madrid head coach Carlo, has of course positioned itself front and centre in the headlines in Spain’s capital over recent weeks.
As much comes after word was forthcoming that Ligue 1 outfit Stade de Reims had identified the 34-year-old as their leading managerial target with a view to next season.
Les rouges et blancs are on the lookout for fresh blood in the dugout, following the sudden exit of Will Still.
And Davide Ancelotti, who has long been building for himself a reputation as something of a mastermind behind the scenes in Madrid, emerged at the very top of Reims’ list.
If the latest word stemming from the media this weekend is anything to go by, however, then those of a Real persuasion need not fret.
This comes with their side’s assistant boss having come to the decision to stay put through the summer.
As per AS:
‘Davide has closed the door, for now, on leaving the white entity.’
The Italian’s plan is to remain at the Santiago Bernabéu for at least one more season, before reassessing his future in the summer of 2025, when he will have just a year remaining on his current contract.
Alongside Reims, clubs from the Saudi Pro League, Serie A and the Premier League are all understood to be keeping a close eye on Ancelotti’s situation, too.
