Daniel Wass’ Atlético Madrid move on hold

Valencia are not allowing Daniel Wass to leave the club, despite strong interest from Atlético Madrid, according to Goal.

Atlético Madrid are looking for a right-back following the departure of Kieran Trippier, but Valencia insist they will not sell and Atlético have not raised their initial offer.

Wass’ agents are trying to resolve the situation. Valencia also don’t want to lose the player until they have found a replacement.

The Danish international’s contract at Mestalla is up this summer and the offer from Atlético is reportedly just under €2 million.

Valencia manager José Bordalás admitted that Wass told him that he wants to accept the offer he has from Atlético.

“The boy told me that he had an offer from Atlético and that his idea was in principle to be able to leave, but I don’t decide, I wish I could, but I’m not the owner,” Bordalás said in quotes picked up by Mundo Deportivo.
