Steven Gerrard wants to sign Luis Suárez for Aston Villa, according to journalist Gerard Romero.
Gerrard has spoken to the Atlético Madrid forward and wants him to join for the coming season. Suárez’s contract expires with Atlético this summer and it could be his last season at the club he joined from Barcelona.
The Villa boss, who is currently building his own team at the Premier League club, has already signed former team-mate Philippe Coutinho on loan from Barcelona.
Suárez has already ruled out offers from Palmeiras, Corinthians, Atletico Mineiro and one from an unnamed club in Saudi Arabia
