Dani Carvajal confirms Real Madrid stars ‘wanted’ Man City in Champions League

Real Madrid star Dani Carvajal has this evening piqued widespread attentions, with his latest post-match comments.

As much comes after the Spanish international provided his take on the draw afforded to his side in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Real, of course, are fresh off the club’s latest domestic triumph, which saw Carlo Ancelotti’s troops take another step towards the La Liga title, courtesy of a 4-2 victory over Osasuna.

On the back of proceedings coming to a close at El Sadar, though, it was the subject of Europe which inevitably took its place front and centre in the media chatter once more.

Speaking after bagging his side’s 2nd of the day against Osasuna, Dani Carvajal was asked for his take on the club’s fate on the continent.

This comes after Los Blancos were afforded the toughest task imaginable in advancing to the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Pitted against the might of Pep Guardiola’s competition holders Manchester City, Real stopper Carvajal, however, is adamant that many in Ancelotti’s squad got exactly what they wanted:

“Manchester City? In the dressing room they were one of the rivals we really wanted, because they’re so good.”
