Dani Alves informs Barcelona of his intention to stay at the club

Dani Alves wants to play at this year’s World Cup in Qatar with the Brazilian national team.

In order to be in the Brazil squad, he wants to stay at Barcelona until at least December, according to Goal.

Alves signed a 6-month contract last December, an agreement that expires on 30 June.

The Blaugrana and the player will have to sit down to discuss an extension into the 2022-23 campaign. At 39, Alves wants to stay at Barça and be part of the squad that Xavi puts together for the coming season.

Alves has already informed Barcelona of his intention to extend his contract and continue playing at Camp Nou until the World Cup.

The player’s entourage believes there won’t be any problems with his renewal.

Since January, Alves has played in 16 of the club’s 22 games. Once the World Cup is over, the two parties will sit down again to analyse what is the best option for both, whether to continue until the end of the 2022-23 season or to terminate the player’s contract in winter.
