Former Barcelona star Cesc Fàbregas has this week revealed his admiration for the current crop of players under the watch of Hansi Flick in Catalunya’s capital.
This of course comes fresh off a frankly spectacular opening to the new season in Barcelona.
On Wednesday night, the Blaugrana kicked their latest European campaign into gear with a bang, putting five past Feyenoord in the Champions League. In the process, Flick’s troops made it a staggering 22 goals scored in just five outings all told in 2026/27.
Many, in turn, have already gone as far as to label Barca the favourites to march all the way to glory on the continent next summer.
And one individual fully aware of the sizable task facing his own side in avoiding a drubbing at the hands of the Spanish champions when they meet next January is the aforementioned Cesc Fàbregas.
Drawn on Barcelona’s stellar form during an appearance in front of the media following a first-ever Champions League victory for his own Como on Thursday evening, ex-midfielder Fàbregas admitted:
“Barcelona are frightening! They are scary, man. They always find solutions. Barcelona make you look bad because they are able to find solutions in every moment.
“No matter which player steps up, the level remains very high.”
