Chelsea ready massive Frenkie de Jong offer as Barcelona open to sale

A fresh insight into the future of Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong has been forthcoming late this afternoon.

The subject of De Jong’s situation in Catalunya has of course returned to the forefront of the headlines in a major way over the last 24 hours.

This comes after word was forthcoming that the former Ajax man had altered his stance on a potential summer Barcelona exit.

De Jong, in the past, has always done his utmost to shut down any and all speculation surrounding his name, adamant that his sole intention is to succeed long-term at the Camp Nou.

In turn, it came as something of a shock when journalist Lluís Canut – a friend of both De Jong’s entourage, and former Barca head coach Ronald Koeman – admitted that ‘something has changed’ in the mind of the Dutchman.

“Something has changed in Frenkie de Jong. Frenkie is no longer closing the door on leaving the club,” Canut explained during an appearance on Esport3.

Such claims have since given rise to widespread speculation that a summer divorce could well in turn be on the cards between De Jong and Barcelona.

Deco and his team of Blaugrana directors are understood to be open to the sale of the midfield all-rounder, in the case of an appropriately massive offer arriving for his services.

And, if the latest word doing the rounds on Friday evening is anything to go by, precisely that could be on the cards, by way of Premier League giants Chelsea.

As per a report from Diario Sport:

‘Chelsea would be willing to pay a transfer close to 100 million euros’, a fee which would satisfy the demands of their counterparts in Catalunya’s capital.

And the Blues are not the only ones keen on De Jong, with both Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain also keeping a close eye on developments surrounding the 26-year-old, with a view to a potential summer bid.
