A major transfer merry-go-round has on Tuesday evening been kicked into gear.
This comes amid confirmation that La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have wrapped up deals for two headline reinforcements.
First through the door at the Wanda Metropolitano will be Chelsea star Conor Gallagher, in a transfer worth a sum in the region of €42 million.
And swiftly following the Englishman will be another star performer from the Premier League, in the form of Julián Álvarez.
In something of a statement signing for Diego Simeone’s Atléti, the Rojiblancos have agreed to cough up a sum with the potential to rise to almost €100 million to Manchester City.
Álvarez has also given his green light to the move, expected to touch down in Madrid later this week.
And, in the process, the Argentine international will open the door for a current member of the attacking ranks at Atlético to move in the opposite direction, to the Premier League.
The player in question? Samu Omorodion.
After a season on loan with Deportivo Alavés, explosive youngster Omorodion will now depart the Metropolitano on a permanent basis, in a £35 million move to Chelsea.
