Celta Vigo trio ruled out of Real Betis clash

Three members of the first-team setup at La Liga outfit Celta Vigo have been ruled out of the upcoming round of fixtures in Spain’s top-flight.

As much was announced by Celta head coach Claudio Giráldez on Thursday evening.

After being afforded a week off owing to the scheduling of the Copa del Rey final, the Celestes will mark their return to action on Friday night.

A trip to the Estadio Benito Villamarín lies in store, where Celta will lock horns with a Real Betis outfit in the midst of an alarming stretch of form.

As alluded to above, though, in their efforts to add to the woes of tomorrow’s hosts, the visitors will be forced to make do without three important players.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference a short time ago, Claudio Giráldez confirmed that all of Luca de la Torre, Carlos Dotor and Renato Tapia have been ruled out against Betis.

The former pair returned to training alongside the rest of the Celestes’ squad this week, but have not yet been approved for matchday duties.

Midfielder Tapia, meanwhile, has been pencilled in for a return to training next week (as per Mundo Deportivo), as the Peruvian continues to struggle with a muscular problem.
